11. Raw Vegetables

Raw vegetables are undoubtedly healthy, but eating them first thing in the morning is not ideal for many people. Early in the day, your digestive system is still warming up and produces fewer digestive enzymes. Raw vegetables are high in insoluble fiber, which can be difficult to break down on an empty stomach, leading to bloating, gas, stomach cramps, or discomfort. For individuals with sensitive digestion or conditions like IBS, raw vegetables in the morning may worsen symptoms. Additionally, raw vegetables require more digestive energy, which can leave you feeling tired instead of energized. Cooking vegetables lightly helps soften fiber and makes nutrients easier to absorb.
Better option: Lightly steamed, sautéed, or warm vegetable dishes.
